Abstract

This paper looks at questionnaire findings to evaluate how people, everyday users and stakeholders, view the transformation of Mall 1 Gulberg, Lahore. The area is heavily shifted from retail to food and dinning. The paper investigates the effect of food-led transformation in the domain of accessibility, safety and spatial experience. The survey results show that most of the users of Mall 1 generally like the new restaurant focus but there are some other aspects that needs to come under consideration like parking, inadequate signage and lack of facilities for differently abled people. Guidelines prioritize boosting shared facilities, implementing universal design features and providing additional greenery and culture programming.
